Emily Ann Hoffman

“This collection explores fictionalized pseudo-landscapes born out of whimsy and the will of my brush. I find myself turning to west coast landscapes: expansive rolling mountainscapes, frontiers still infrequently traveled, apt places to fall in love.”

Can’t you tell that artist Emily Hoffman is not only a painter, but also a film director? Her landscapes are anything but static, they’re alive with movement. She interprets our natural surroundings through shapes, colors and patterns that intertwine, like a perfectly choreographed love scene. When gazing into her work, we imagine alternate realities and home all at the same time.
